Ultimate Cheeseburger Status: RARE

Ah, opening day of the con! Pulling open the shades, Genri is greeted with beautiful, panoramic views of the cloudy harbor. Ahhh...

Wait a minute. Cloudy? Shouldn't it be sunny?

Hmmm, this was strange, but Genri shrugged it off. Maybe it was early morning fog. Not knowing what to wear, he asked his friends what costume to do first. Ever so kind, people blurted out: "Wear the baller--err, I mean Outlaw Star costume!"

Donning the leotard, Genri rushed out, expecting to meet the masses of photographers. Instead, he was greeted with RAIN. Yes, in what seems to be a monumental event, it rained at Anime Expo! Fortunately, he had his cloak, so he went wandering with his friends Wayne and one of the Neko twins. But his red hair soon started leaking, and he was feeling icky, so he decided to change into normal clothes in the afternoon.

After killing some time meeting friends, and taking a tour of the dealer's room, he found out the Japanese cosplay panel was at 7. Genri then remembers his friend Justin, who kept begging him to resurrect Lamui Hackt once again, to wear Gekka Kami. Genri finally agreed, if only because Justin helped him make a Guilty Gear costume.

Genri - "Which outfit was Gekka Kami again?"
Justin - "....just be at iPlay's room at 6 ok? *dash*"
Genri - "..."

But Genri was a little bad with time, and ended up going to the room 10 minutes before 7. iPlay's room was already an explosion of luggage to begin with, with Justin's j-rock outfits filling 2 bellcarts ALONE. The panel was going to start soon, and Justin wanted Malice Mizer to be out in force for the Japanese Cosplayers. Taking a deep breath, Genri walked in, only to be greeted with:

A pink pirate. "Put this on, it's Gekka Kami!"

Noooooooooooooooooooo!!! NOT THE PINK PIRATE!!!!!!! Genri wanted to run, to hide, to crawl into some corner and pretend he saw no pink. But before he could react, he was shoved into the costume, a wig slapped on him, processed into J-rock goodness (courtesy of Karrie's sister's make-up skillz), and so Lamui walked free again.

The Japanese cosplay panel was interesting - heads turned as Lamui, Karrie, and Justin marched to it, and even the Japanese cosplayers looked admiringly. It was interesting hearing them talk about cosplay, and as usual, their outfits were fantastic. Throughout the panel, Genri kept stroking his wig, as this was his first time wearing one. He felt Lamui grow stronger, and for some reason, he didn't bother resisting. After the panel ended, Lamui asked Justin if he could wear Illuminati!

Walking around in 3 inch heels and black vinyl, Lamui pranced around the hotel, in addition to hosting a photo shoot with Karrie, who just wanted a simple grape. It's interesting how no one recognizes you when you have a wig and tight black vinyl!

The rest of the night was spent watching the Ah My Goddess Movie, courtesy of Tony from Otaku Outpost. Who needs a huge waiting line when you have the DVD and an import ps2?
